The electricity trading on the Polish Power Exchange in July amounted to 9.142 TWh. In comparison to the same period last year the electricity trading on the Polish Power Exchange increased by 382.82%.
With regard to execution of the contracts for given hour of the electricity delivery day share of all electricity-dedicated markets of the POLPX in total hourly demand of the National Power System in July 2011 amounted to 67.71%, with minimum value of 56.68% and maximum value of 82.60%.
The Day-Ahead Market (DAM)
The monthly BASE price, counted as the by-volume weighted average for all transactions which had been concluded on the Day-Ahead-Market amounted to 190.78 PLN/MWh. It composes a drop by 18.60 PLN in comparison to the previous month. The monthly PEAK price, counted as a by-volume-weighted average for all transactions, which had been entered on the Day-Ahead-Market for hours between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., amounted to 198.27 PLN/MWh (month-to-month drop by 19.37 PLN).
The day-ahead trading volume on the Polish Power Exchange in July 2011 amounted to 1.589 TWh. In comparison with the previous month the trading volume on the DAM dropped by 6.19%. Taking year-to-year ratio into consideration tarding volume on the DAM increased by 258.18%. Average daily trading volume remained at the level of 51 271 MWh, with minimum value of 42 856 MWh and maximum value of 62 969 MWh.
The DAM share in total hourly electricity demand amounted in July 2011 to - in average - in July 2011 13.06%, with minimum value of 6.03% and maximum value of 30.96%.
The Commodity Derivatives Market (CDM)
The average price of the BASE_Y-12 contract (delivery during all hours of the day in 2012) in July 2011 was shaped at the level of 203.22 PLN/MWh (month-to-month downturn by 1.60 PLN). The average price of the PEAK5_Y-12 contract (delivery in 2012 on working days between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.) in July 2011 was shaped at the level of 228.34 PLN/MWh (month-to-month downturn by 0.44 PLN).
The electricity trading volume on the CDM in July 2011 amounted to 7.553 TWh. It composes month-to-mont downturn by 35.16% and increase by 420.97% taking year-to-year into consideration.
As in June 2011 the most liquid contracts were the contracts with electricity delivery profile in 2012.
The total trading volume for the BASE_Y-12 contract amounted to 4 962 960 MWh (565 MW) - what composes 65.71% of the CDM total trading volume. From the beginning of this contract on the Polish Power Exchange the average trading volume amounted to 36 927 936 MWh. The trading volume for the PEAK5_Y-12 contract amounted to 623 700 MWh (165 MW).
