The number of traded contracts volume has amounted to 40 MW (contracted electiricity volume amounted to 151 800 MWh). Average volume-weighted price has amounted to 222.83 PLN/MWh, with minimum value of 222.66 PLN/MWh and maximum value of 223.00 PLN/MWh.

In conformity with earlier announcements the first electricity purchase auction took place on the Polish Power Exchange yesterday. The purchase auction concerned the purchase of electricity in the amount of 100 MW in BASE type delivery, that means the delivery of the equal electricity amounts at each hour of the day during the period since 1.01.2011 till 31.12.2011  (The Instrument BASE-A_Y-11).
The number of traded contracts volume has amounted to 60 MW (contracted electiricity volume amounted to 525 600 MWh). Average volume-weighted price has amounted to 193.36 PLN/MWh, with minimum value of 193.17 PLN/MWh and maximum value of 193.50 PLN/MWh.

Vattenfall Energy Trading has signed a market maker agreement with the Polish Power Exchange. The company shall be the first market maker after so called "exchange obligation" has come into force. The duty of a market maker is to maintain liquidity by placing sale and purchase orders for instruments noted on POLPX markets consistent with rules and regilations specified by the Exchange.

Due to amendments to the Energy Law which came into force on the 9th of August 2010 and changes in the act on excise, all brokerage houses can become members of the Polish Power Exchange and represent their customers on the Day-Ahead Market (DAM) and Commodity Derivatives Market (CDM). First members of DAM and CDM are brokerage houses BOŚ and NOBLE Securities.
